21st Century Wonder Women

I was thinking about my favorite TV shows the other day, and I made a discovery about myself...

Alias:  female spy kicks butt and protects country while speaking 50 languages and wearing the coolest wigs ever

Buffy the Vampire Slayer:  female vampire slayer kicks vampire butt and saves world (at least three times) while making witty comments and looking flawless (just ask Cover Girl)

Bones:  female forensic anthropologist solves mysteries and kicks occasional butt while making snarky remarks and wearing gorgeous jewelry (though unfortunately socially inept)

Kim Possible:  female teenager kicks butt and saves world daily from cartoon villains while dealing with pimples and prom dates

Closer:  female homicide detective solves mysteries a la Sherlock Holmes and bullies suspects into confessions while consuming ridiculous amounts of chocolate stashed away in her desk drawer

Is this saying anything to anybody?

A Season of Firsts

First time at Disneyland

The magic of Disney is so real... it was amazing!  We just loved it... can't believe I had to wait til I turned 30 to see Mickey Mouse. 

First time at a professional basketball game

Bulls lost to the Clippers, boo. 

First time ice skating on the beach (and our first winter without snow)

This girl in the corner that fell is just so funny to me.  That's probably mean.

Check out the dude skating in a hawaiian shirt and shorts. It was about 78 degrees that day in December.

First time at the Wild Animal Park & San Diego Zoo

Yep - they're gorillas eating grapefruit

First time I ever saw (or heard of) a urinal cake!
